From Jan. 2010 to July 2011, I was the media relations and communications specialist for the Berman Institute of Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University. I wrote announcements for internal and external audiences, press releases and newspaper-style articles for the institute's blog, which aims to raise awareness about the institute and the importance of bioethics more broadly.

Developing and maintaining relationships with the media, while monitoring the news for emerging issues that the institute can contribute useful commentary on, were other core responsibilities aimed at the overall goal of engaging the public.
